The Sedlec Ossuary, a small Roman Catholic church located in the Czech Republic is absolutely a head turner. Interior decoration consists of more than 40,000 human skeletons which dubs it The Church of Bones or the Bone Church. The first photo is an entire chandelier; talk about something eerie. I don’t know if this church has good or bad ju-ju considering the King of Bohemia in 1278 sent for “Holy Soil” from the grounds of Golgotha and sprinkled it all over. Everyone wanted to be buried there, and since there isn’t enough room to house the dead, (nicely, that is) in 1870 Frantisek Rint was asked to arrange the bones in order. He came out with this.
Did I also mention it was the inspiration for Dr. Satan’s Lair in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses?
